One More Alta Vista
I got an e-mail from the PR company for Alta at K Station (550 West Kinzie Street) over the weekend with an update on the money being raised for Japanese disaster relief by the residents of that Fulton River District tower. (See our previous coverage here)
The total as of last Friday (April 22, 2011) is $700 from the residents directly; much of it raised during the Polar Plunge. In addition, the developer of the building, Fifield Companies, has matched that amount, and so has Lincoln Property Management, which runs the place.
That brings the total to $2,100, with an eventual goal of $3,000. Both Fifield and Lincoln deserve a pat of the back for coughing up $1,400 for a resident event. I know certain property developers/management companies of similar size (*cough*UDR*cough*) often won’t even pony up $75 to support resident events, and the concierge staff pays out of pocket for routine things.
Alta’s PR company also sent over its own video of the plunge, which you can see below.
