It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas (2011 edition, part three)

The 2011 City of Chicago Christmas tree

The city’s annual Christmas tree has been erected in Daley Plaza, and crews are flocking it with lights.  Gone are the days when it would be a massive affair made up of many tiered individual trees, now it is just one.  But it’s a heckuva one.

The tree was donated to the city by the Spangler family of Western Springs.  The 55-foot-tree will be lit by the Spangler’s three children during the city’s lighting ceremony on November 23rd — the day before Thanksgiving.
